Connie is home from camp!! She lost a tooth the first day---but she saved it to bring home for the tooth fairy. We were caught unprepared, so I offered to put a Chihuahua under her pillow---she was not amused....
It's officially summer now, and I decree it will finish better than it started!! The tomatoes and peppers are in, looking pretty happy, and if nothing else, I'll be canning tomatoes and salsa. Hoping for a bumper crop of peppers, I'd like to have enough to take to the farmer's market this year. Red bell peppers are 2.49 EACH at the store!!
Good-bye King Cat Gidiya, you will be greatly missed...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All my garden seedlings had died---I had made little greenhouses from plastic pie containers...I've had folks saving them for me. Well, it rained hard a couple of times and they filled up and drowned the seedlings-----I didn't realize they were waterlogged in time to save them. I was pretty disgusted with the whole thing, and didn't really want to buy plants---when I did call the nursery, they had closed for the season. Double disgusted now!
Well, we were in Torrington today, and there was a sign at a roadside nursery for 25 to 50 percent off. We stopped and I was able to get a bunch of tomatoes and peppers for very little. They even had some heirloom tomatos---I was mourning those most of all. The only thing they didn't have was white tomatos, but I can grow those next year. Then we stopped at a garage sale, and they just happened to have a tiller for twenty dollars. I am a happy camper!
Here's something strange, not sure how I feel about this at all. I went to order mealworms for Moshe and discovered that there is a national mealworm shortage.....with worldwide food shortages on the rise, and all the other problems in the world, this is such a minor deal it isn't even funny.
Pastor made it home to Guatemala after several hard days, his flight had to return to Miami and he and Heidi had to sleep on the floor in the airport. They made it two days later, in time for the funereal. He's going to be speaking tonight at a memorial service, then he'll be back mid-week.
Pastor has been in Lakeland at the healing revival for almost a week---there have been resurrections and healings taking place nightly. Yesterday morning in church we got word that his mother had just died in Guatemala.
Here's a little-known fact...lizards are optimists! Moshe the gecko is now almost 8 inches long, and when he gets in his moods he can be quite active. I heard him scribbling in his cage this morning and went to see----lo and behold, there sits Joshua the magpie cat with his tail slowing waving, and Moshe is trying to get his tail through the glass! He's snapping at it and tasting the air---I suspect he thought it was an especially large mealworm. Joshie was mourning the fact that his lizard lure worked so well, but there's a screen on top of the cage.
Have a safe holiday! Of course with gas prices, not so many of us are traveling, so at least the highways are safer.....
I spent the morning cleaning and photographing, and I actually plan to list on Ebay today!
The last couple items I listed did well, considering it has been ages since I did auctions.
Triton arrived! If you are wondering what Triton is, it's a very expensive speciality glass that's produced in small batches, hence the $80-$100 per pound price tag. It can be fickle and demanding, but there are beautiful effects to be had that previously were only available with borosilicate.
Con is done with school! We let her stay up as late as she wanted, which was fine until she came into our room with a flashlight at midnight, looking for jammies....
It has been a while!!
Moshe has shed three more times...
March 26: new listings on Etsy--not a lot, but something. I've been in a little bit of a slump since Tucson, so I went through my older auction photos for inspiration....there's a set of bubbles, several disc sets, some buttons and pillows, and some rings to come later--I have to retake some pictures.
Moshe the gecko is shedding for the second time since he came to live with us, so I guess we're feeding him well. Yesterday he came charging out of his house and chomped a cricket, then took a mealworm as well. Today, he's sitting in his house looking decidedly flakey...
Note to self: amend story of Sampson to read jawbone of a donkey instead of jawbone of an ass. Driving down the road, sudden cry of: "Look Mom, an ass!!" When I mentioned that we don't usually call them that anymore, out came the trump card; "But Mom, the Bible says!"
What NOT to do in caring for leopard gecko:
Do not attempt to sterilize driftwood in microwave, despite husband's assurances of safety......guess it was time to air out the house anyway.
Now I know I'm getting old...my next appt with the chiropractor is Good Friday, so I said,"earthquake day". Blank look, what earthquake? Then I realized that he wasn't even born, and in fact, had I had children at an early age, he's probably young enough to be my son!
Several new Etsy listings today, I've been raiding the show stock in between orders....and hopefully, I'll get the silk pieces from Tucson up later. I'll post here when I do, as it's a different Etsy shop.
Learned a new term..."positional vertigo" --ugh! Translated, means go directly to your chiropractor.
Well, I managed to list a few items on Etsy, though not enough to warrant an email for the mailing list....some Cinco deMayo hearts, seaglass hearts, layered and cut on the wheel, and best of all, a set with my new press! I should have bought this press when it first came out, and I wish I had! It's the special nugget from Zoozii and I really do love it--the shape is nice to wear and the slightly larger size makes room for more "stuff".
Home again, as of the 14th...most of the orders are out the door. I'm still slow cause my neck is not as healed as I would have liked---if I could have visited the chiroprator about a week into the shows, it would have helped...oh well.
I've listed a little bit of the vintage lucite on Etsy, although I'm thinking about moving it to its own shop, along with the embroidered silk/velvet pieces I found.
Well, opening day is past, now to settle into the routine...
My brain is fizzing as usual---I go flat out and produce, then I stop working for two weeks, and my brain says "Hey, I was just getting started!"
So far I'm hearing nautical for spring (yay!), green, and orchid...EDP and Grasshopper green come to mind.
I also found some fab vintage lucite hoops in bombshell red, navy, and bubblegum pink, to pair with blackened silver. The gal I purchased them from says she can't make enough to keep her galleries stocked.
In honor of Valentines day I'm having a special boutique tomorrow, the 17th.
I'll announce it to the mailing list when it's open---then a notice here, for those not on the mailing list. To keep it simple, there will be a limited number available of each item---Tucson is too close for me to take on orders for Valentines, sorry!
Stay tuned!
My neck is feeling better---and I'm doing my annual dropping out of sight for a month.. Tucson is coming up fast, so I'll be scarce til it's over. Do come see us if you're there---Chuck does the Best Bead as always, and I'll be at Bead Ren with Debi of RedDogDesigns..
I do have two listings up on Justbeads finally!! And I'm adding to the Etsy store tonight...
Sorry I haven't been around for a while.....I've been fighting a bulged disc in my neck that's cut down my working time quite drasticly. I've learned a few things in this process that I wish I'd known before....such as the ligament at the back of the neck that can stretch with too much bending the head forward, thus leaving the muscles alone to hold the neck, a job they aren't meant to do. I'm able to work a little, but at this point my breaks are longer than my work sessions, so my days are quite long...
It's been a while! Grammy came and went, we really hated to see her go!!
Connie was pretty upset to see her leave!
Just a post and run today....MIL is coming for Thanksgiving, she arrives on Saturday.
It will be wonderful to see her again, Connie is beside herself with excitement, though not to the point of wanting to clean her room...
New Etsy listings here:
Has it been a week? Already?
I have a Storque showcase today on Etsy, with several new things listed....
And, I'm starting to think about the sale on Black Friday, what a name for a perfectly good day....
I'm planning to have lots of new goodies ready to go on the website, plus free shipping on Etsy, and ? Stay tuned.
I'm not sure I'm receiving all my emails, in fact I'm quite certain that I'm not.
I just received an email that was sent on 10-18......I won something on Ebay, wonder if I should go pay again?
Humor for the day.....sitting in church this morning, as Pastor Mariano spoke on 2 Peter 3, there were two wasps sailing gracefully back and forth from the front of the church to the back, and a few people were more focused on them than Pastor. Angela and I both had our study guides firmly in hand should they decide to drop down and land within swatting range. I asked Pastor afterwards if he knew they were there and he hadn't even seen them!
A couple of weeks ago, one flew directly up the aisle, turned left, and snagged in my hair----I was doing some interesting gyrations trying to find something to get him out with. Thankfully I scraped him off with a prayer request card (answered prayer right there, lol!) and he flew away.
The greatest thing about crock pots? The cats can't get in! They sit there and stare, scheming and plotting ways to wedge the lid off, but without thumbs, it's futile!
This is Hammy, con took the pictture herself. Hammy is now in his nest box for the winter, sleeping in a nice little fleece bed and being fed every couple of days.....he was released too late to really store up for winter, so he'll be fed through the winter.
Now that I've Fed-exed the last couple of days worth of beads to Chuck in Kansas City, I will sleep in tomorrow....haha! Actually I have several sets to finish in the morning, then I'll list on Etsy in the afternoon, and work on orders.
One of the perils of homeschooling....she finished a day's work at 11:30 this morning.
Why I don't shop for shoes with Punkin..."Mom, your toes are not pointed, you can't buy those"!
Con was helping Dad load the breadmaker, and in her excitement to be helping----cracked the egg perfectly and beautifully---right on the counter....not in the bowl!
Now that life has calmed down for a day or so, I'm listing on Etsy today. Lots of goodies, check it out!
We were getting ready to head for town today, all of us out in the yard, and Chuck suddenly said "hey, what are you doing!" and he had a squirrel halfway up his leg. We were concerned that it might be rabid, and he shook it off, but it kept trying to climb up, between hopeful dashes in my direction. We must have been a sight, trying to avoid this squirrel, who couldn't decide which of us he found more interesting. Connie came out at that point and said "Hey! Hammy! what are you doing over here?" Turns out it was the neighbor's rescue squirrel who was wanting to be fed......and I had dried fruit for a snack in the car, no wonder he was chasing us!
Funny how different a squirrel can look when you know he's tame....
Chuck is home! We missed him terribly....then on his first night home, Con had some kind of stomach thing and wound up in our bed, throwing up, at 3 am....welcome home, Dad!!
Back among the living...sort of. Con and I both had some sort of flu thing, it hit me much harder for some reason, she bounced back after two days, I'm still rather wobbly and slept much more today than I wanted to.
The weather was interesting...clear and warm til mid-day, then it was as if someone slapped a lid over us, instant grey overcast. Along about fiveish the sun broke under the edge and lit up the trees--then 20 minutes later it was raining.
Con had wanted to do a craft every day that Dad was gone, and we almost succeeded...the best one in my mind was lengthening a too-short pair of jeans....we chose a strip of hand-dyed fabric in pink and peach from my dyeing days, a bit of tiny, tiny ric-rac in bright gold, and a length of embroidered white ribbon with yelllow roses.
Personally I think Gymboree has nothing on us! And we get another six months at least out of a pair of fifty cent jeans....
Well, I caved---I turned the furnace on tonight for the first time....my hands were so cold that there was no chance of working.....I just shipped some rather wonderful enamels to Chuck for the show tomorrow, and I'll try to list a couple on Etsy tomorrow evening.
Con wants to make a little coat for Cocoa, and I was exploring dog clothing online......I would have said "only in America", but there are quite a few Japanese craft magazines devoted to dog clothes as well. I have a pattern, but I plan to use an old shirt for the fabric---it somehow seems very wrong to make my dog a garment from new material when there are children (even here) without a coat, or shoes that fit, or a new anything to wear to school.
Wasps! I have never seen so many in my life!
The south side of the house has literally hundreds on a sunny day---unfortunately the back door is there, too. I've been keeping a can of carb spray on the back stairs--works like a charm....
Oh, I'm a lazy thing! Or busy....
Sorry I haven't been around much....we had a great show, and Chuck is off to another show soon---we're frantically preparing for that!
It's bean season, which means sniffles, snuffles, and fresh edible beans on the table! We go to the elevator and buy fresh beans by the 20 lb bag, much nicer than the old dried up ones you get at the grocery store. The thing I like the best is no soaking! They cook in a couple of hours, max.
What else.........?
Kittykittypepper is now spayed---as Con puts it, no more marriage song....
The deer next door are gone to a wildlife refuge, we'll miss them! They were getting too big though, and would be knocking Con or Haley over soon if they had a treat.
I pulled out the enamels again after a long hiatus, why did I put them away in the first place? I've listed a few pieces on Etsy, more to come after this next show..
Con is learning to embroider--today she embroidered her dress into her work!
Yay, a nigerian answered an online classified of Chuck's and I have 3 emails from a known Ebay scammer.......I'll take it the rest of my day will be better, it has to be!
Almost forgot---we'll be at the Bead Ren as usual, but they moved! If you are looking for us, it's Holiday Inn, DIA Convention Center,I - 70 and Chambers Rd., exit 283
Sept 13-16th
Green beans are canned, applesauce is frozen! I have some wonderful silver cored beads today---Chuck does a great job on these!
Welcome to the weekend! Hope you have a blast, whatever you do!! Me, I'm finishing the applesauce and canning green beans.... I worked late-late last night, couldn't seem to quit, so I have two gorgeous sets new on Ebay today...
Cooler today, and very reminiscent of home....Con's first field trip was a raging success. We went and picked apples, she saw llamas, geese,chickens, a blue yak, a bison, assorted cats and dogs, and then we hiked back to a fossil dig and she found all sorts of fossils. It was too bad we couldn't keep any, but it was a national park, so they had to stay.
I added several new auctions today, as well as one new catalog item, and a few new pieces on Etsy.
I think we've tipped over the edge into fall, the nights are suddenly cool, and the sky is that thinner blue....you know, where you can see forever...
More listings on Etsy today, plus a couple for the auctions, probably one on each.
Life is good today! My camera had stopped taking nice pictures, esp on a white background, so I bought a replacement on ebay---was a bit apprehensive about buying a used camera, but it turned out just fine. The seller had taken a lot of pictures with it, but kept it in immaculate condtion. It came with a case, which I'd never had, and two 128 mb memory sticks. I was so happy, I just sat down and took my photos, cropped, resized, and I was done! I put everything on Etsy today, go peek!
Con smoked her schoolwork, got it all done by 12:30, so we are taking a field trip on Monday or Tuesday....maybe to get apples or honey?
It's cooler today!! We're working on the routine---if I didn't mention it, we're homeschooling Con this year. She decided she wanted to try it this year, and began telling everyone that she was going to be homeschooled, so we followed along!!
I'm pretty happy after seeing the class roster at school--she would have been with all the kids that made her miserable, and not with her best friend, either.
I have a old ships bell from my childhood, and Con has decided that it is the school bell---she rings it at every opportunity.
I did add a couple things today, another seaglass set on Etsy, and some of the vessels I used to make....
And a few new items on Justbeads and Ebay. I'm sort of laying low because my camera finally died and I'm using a borrowed unit. My pictures aren't as good as usual, but the beads haven't changed!
Just added a few new items here, sparkly crystals, lacy buttons, and added in a couple of disc sets for autumn. I went to the Pantone Fall Forecast and tried to work with those colors---the crystals especially match well.
I've listed the originals on Etsy, so if you want the EXACT one listed check my etsy store!
Another hot day---I'm really looking forward to fall this year!
Just listed some items on the auction site, mostly Justbeads, one on Ebay and added a few things on Etsy. I'm excited about Etsy---we're almost to 600 sales, and to celebrate
we're offering free first class shipping on the next six sales, good on domestic and international both. Just don't pay immediately and I'll send you a revised Paypal invoice.
We are happily taking nice long hot baths again.....Con has discovered how nice it is to have a candlelit bath---she's 8! She's either getting it out of her system now, or training for the future.....
Rain, rain, rain.....it's wonderful, except for my phone line. When it rains, my phone goes out, including internet, and takes a couple of days to work properly again.
We had a hot, sultry morning.....several thunderstorms towered up in the early afternoon, and a grass fire was started by lightning...luckily the wind switched. We saw fire trucks from Lyman,Gering, Mitchell,LaGrange, Hawk Springs, and Scottsbluff. This one had potential....thankfully they got it contained.
Take a look at this article....I believe it, I've bought summer sneakers that I had to throw away after three wearings, they developed such a strange, nasty odor. This was much worse than any *normal* foot odor, and I had just decided that *I* couldn't buy those particular shoes. Now I wonder if there wasn't more to it than that.
Con is better, but not happy with me.....I ordered her a pair of Crocs from ebay to replace last year's too-small pair. I measured her foot and thought I got it just right, but they are a size too large. Not to mention that I ordered hot pink, and they sent coral...she's just generally disgusted at the moment. I did manage to reorder them last night, so hopefully next week she'll be Croc-ed again! The drawback I see with those things is the way that puncture weed spines go right through...if you don't know what those are, google them, you'll be impressed. Very nasty little things, almost a caltrops sort of deal.
Looking like another hot one today...we supposedly had 109 in Scottsbluff yesterday, though that's not the "official" reading from the airport...
Well, almost a week later I have some more cut beads---going up later on Ebay.
It's been an interesting week to say the least--the water heater went out and Con has been running a fever with no other symptoms. I have a whole list of things to watch for, and if they happen, I'm to take her to the Dr, but so far, just a case of overheating. Wish it was as simple as adding anti-freeze!!
I'm beginnig to put together some autumn sea-glass sets, hopefully I'll get them photographed in the next couple of days...along with my backlog of beads to cut with the grinder. i love the way they look, but it takes some time to get them finished.
More heat, we're staying downstairs mostly...we get more done that way! We've had three squash so far, plus chard, tomatoes, cucumbers, and lettuce.
I've been dabbling in Pandora beads for the last couple of weeks, but just started listing them, mainly on Etsy. They're fun, but I had to adapt to the larger hole, design-wise.
It has been so hot.....the garden is loving it, as long as we keep the water going, lol. We ate our first tomatoes the oher day, and boy, were they good! There have been fireworks displays all over town, and Con has been loving it--we went to the big show up at the college last night and when they started, she yelled "is this the Rapture?" and fell off her chair into the grass...
We sat next to two ladies with a boy about Con's age, and it was nice to meet someone who felt the same about kids as we do. I would tell Con not to run and play by the road, and she would tell her son the same. I feel over-cautious sometimes, being around parents who do let their children play in the street....he was polite and well-behaved, and altogether the kind of boy you would want to live next door.
Ahhh, very strange dream last night...Chuck had taken Con into a bar called the Linwood in the town I grew up in.....when I came in she was drawing and selling pictures to all the bar patrons. I was upset because a bar is no place for an eight year old child, so we left...right into autumn. It had been summer when I went in.....very strange
When I told Chuck about the dream, Con started fussing at him for taking her in the bar, even if it was only a dream!!
School's out!! Actually has been since last Friday....Con is greatly enjoying her freedom....we aren't getting as much done, oddly enough...
It's warm enough to electroform again, so we can get to work on the backlog of prepped pieces, leaves, vessels, etc...lots of stuff waiting in the wings!
The garden is coming along nicely, except for the carrots...I need to replant those. Not sure what happened, since I used nice fresh seed. Oh, well, I needed an excuse to be out in the sun anyway.
Done with shows til September, time to plant!!
Denver was awesome as always, thanks a million to those who came by! One teeny problem---I found something wonderful for Maggie, but I have no address since your move.....drop me a line, would you?
Ducky doings...the ducks have made another nest, this one under the yard swing...I took yesterdays egg and put it in the fridge, waiting for another to make an omellete.
I need to dispose of the lilac bush eggs before it gets hot, all we need is a ripe duck egg popping right under the window.
Well, Con's flu turned into everyone's flu...yuck.
We're going to live, though a couple of days ago, we rather hoped not..
Tax week!
We're gathering the final bits to send to the tax man.....I'll be glad when life returns to normal.
Con is sick, 104 fever this morning, so we had to sponge her down with cool water--not a happy task at all. Not much else happening, spring appears to have become shy....
Oh, time to breath! I've been home a week, most of the orders are caught up, the dreadful white box in the basement has been tamed...(it had hubby totally browbeaten!), and the
neighbor's duck has laid an egg in my lilac bush!
Wilmington was rather wonderful, it had been years since I simply walked on the beach and picked up shells.....I mailed home a shoebox full and Con has been having a great time with them. She wrote out a theory about a snail shell to explain the color inside.
"Crab wore shell. Then crab came out and left marks behind"
When I left, it was still winter, when I came home the robins and red-winged blackbirds were here, the hyacinths and daffodils were blooming, and the grass was sprouting. No dandelions as yet, but I have no doubt they'll be along shortly.
Home again....got here just in time to see Bon one last time. She went to the vet for the last time today.
Con took it better than we did, I think. She's ready for a puppy from Cocoa, so we can be a two-chihuahua family. Not so sure about that right now..
Well,I'm off to Wilmington tomorrow.....I'm really looking forward to it!
Stop in and say hello if you're in the area.
Oh goodness, what an uproar last night! I had just installed Punkin in a VERY bubbly bubble bath and crept quietly downstairs to make beads.....when through the ceiling I heard sudden wailing and lamenting----I threw down the bead and ran upstairs to find that Kittykittypepper had fallen into the tub with Punkin. She's fascinated with the bubbles, and was trying to walk around the edge of the tub and fish around in the bubbles at the same time.....Punkin was very upset at kitty for making a huge splash and getting water everywhere, and kitty was none too happy herself, fur all matted down and funny looking.
Luckily Punkin only got a tiny scratch on one foot, I'm not really sure she felt it, as busy yelling as she was!
In other news, I rounded up a bunch of things and posted them on Etsy in preparation for my showcase spot tomorrow..
Maybe spring will come after all....it's been melting and muddy.
The ducks were under the lilac bush yesterday, quacking loudly enough to upset Eddie.
On our way home from Tucson, just a quick update....Con and Dad are swimming. We stopped for the night just north of Albuquerque, and had to find a hotel with a pool. I'm catching up on email in the room.
I think we'll take a day off to breathe when we get home, then I have orders to finish and ship.....my goal is to be totally caught up in a week, with everything mailed. I have some new ideas for the catalog to get into production and photographed, stay tuned!
Last minute note: just added six new items to the catalog....look under specials to view them.... I will need the full three weeks to fill orders on these as I won't begin production til after the show.....just a teaser/preview of the new summer beads!
As you may have guessed, we're very busy preparing for Tucson....we'll be at two shows as usual: Best Bead and Bead Ren.
Stop and see us if you're in Tucson!
Our last shipping day is Wednesday the 24th, normal shipping will resume *around* the 9th of Feb.
Has it really been a month?! A lot has happened......Christmas programs, orders, baking, etc... I was saddened the other day when I went to Mellissa's website, for the first time in a while, only to see that she's taken a full time job and become a part time beadmaker....she did say she'd be offering a few more beads before her job starts, so be sure to go look! http://whitneystreetstudio.comCon was really dreaming of a White Christmas, and she got it! We had a storm this week that dropped about 14 inches----which was mild compared to Denver and further south. Con had three days of school left before Christmas break, but they just closed early, so she had three extra days. I wasn't as pleased as she was, so I'm consoling myself with bright colors---just put a new set up on ebay that reminds me of Santa Fe, the brightly painted mailboxes lined up on Canyon Road...
We put Kittykitypepper out in the snow, since she wants so badly to be outside----I think that problem is fixed for a while! Her tail blew up, her hackles stood up, and she ran/waded to the door and clawed at it, mewing pitifully the whole time. Then she sat in a sunbeam pretending she hadn't been upset at all. You know you aren't getting any younger when--you tell your seven year she can stay up as late as she wants, and you go to bed before she does! Happy Thanksgiving!! I am thankful for all of you.....without you I couldn't do what I do, I'd still be selling crash parts and viewing cars as a collection of part numbers and repair times..a joyless task most of the time. I am thankful for my wonderful family.........my blood relatives, and my blood-bought relatives. I am thankful for life and freedom, and all those who are protecting our freedom. I'm adding a couple of items to the specials page, a sale to the list, and I have a huge mailing going out on Monday, I have a bazillion beads to clean and string over the weekend---looks like I'll have all the orders out the door Monday. If the puppy doesn't pack off any more beads that is! Little wretch has developed an interest in beads and already has cleared a whole sorted table of discs! Nov 11, We're still here....sorta, that is! Con is back to school and very upset because she couldn't go to KC....we have to save her days away for Tucson, but that's no consolation for her! I looked at Cocoa and realized that we started with a little tan puppy, and now she's very dark, almost black in spots. She has nice markings, I was afraid she wouldn't have any--that she'd just be plain brown. I just updated the specials page---I'm working on spring collections, as that's the next big shift---plus, I guess I'm already tired of autumn colors. Stay tuned---I'll be filling in the new collection over this next week.  Oct 31, O joy....Con has the chickenpox....following on two days of nasty flu for me. We had to go pick her up from school today, she's not a happy camper! Funny, though, she had it once at about two....so really shouldn't get it again. Though the nurse said that three other kids had it this week, all had their vaccinations for it, so shouldn't have gotten it. So, she's pestering dad to go hunting or fishing, since those are not "public activities". Oct 27, What a scare we had today! When we came home from church, Kittypepper was nowhere to be found. We called and called, opened cupboards, looked under everything, in the fridge, in the dishwasher--yes, she goes in there if we leave the door open. Finally we heard a tiny mewing, and followed it to the hall, and there was Kittypepper in the heater vent! How and where she got in, I haven't figured out. The covers are too heavy for a little kitty to lift, and I really don't think the dogs did it, as Con suggests. I really need to find out how she got in there, so I can block it before she gets big enough to get stuck in there. She was all grey and dusty on her snowy little paws and chest, so she got her first bath. She was really happy to be let out, she seemed fine, but when I lifted her out, she purred and then her tail blew up, just a stress reaction I guess. A purring, fluff-tailed kitten..... Oct 18, Con is home from school today----and it snowed! She's been busy with snow angels, hot cocoa, snow forts, hot cocoa, snowballs, hot cocoa......Can you tell she loves hot cocoa? The puppy is singularly unimpressed---snow is not what she signed up for and if we'd remove it immediately, she would appreciate it. She tries to hold up all four feet at once, but it doesn't work somehow..... I added several new items to the catalog under specials--several disc sets, buttons, and a leaf set. Stayed up late cleaning and rearranging---I've moved some items, removed others, and generally freshened up the site. Oct 13, I actually added two new specials! A new discs set that showcases some new odd colors( which means I don't have a lot of that glass, so this one may not last long), and a button set that's very cool. |
